What should students wear?

We will be holding a free dress day for the colour explosion fun run. A white T shirt is best, with old shorts, socks, and shoes as they will get colour powder on them as well. All T shirts need to be sunsafe with sleeves and appropriate for school wear. Bathers or crop tops can be worn under the white T shirt if preferred (or colour will show on other coloured shirts). Students can come to school dressed in their running gear, ready to go. An old towel and change of clothes may also be worth bringing on the day.

How do we fundraise?

Fundraising for our school is easy! Simply go to www.myprofilepage.com.au and click the register button to create a cybersafe, online profile page. Once you’ve created a parent account and profile page, you can share that around to family and friends to receive online donations. Please note that this is an online fundraiser only and all cash donations must be converted to an online donation before the 24th of October 2025.

Can all children participate?

This event is the major fundraiser for our school, so we are encouraging all children to participate in fundraising. However, even if children are unable to raise funds for the event, they are still welcome to take part in the fun run colour explosion.

What if my child needs to opt out?

If children wish to not be squirted with colour or foam, due to concerns of asthma or allergies or any other reason, they can opt out of the activity by filling out the consent form on QParents. A student can also choose to participate in the activity but run past the colour powder stations and foam station if they wish.

Are the colour powder and foam safe?

The non-toxic colour powder is made of high-quality corn starch and permitted food colours, so it’s safe for skin and eyes. It’s non-toxic, biodegradable, skin safe and environmentally friendly. Both the powder and foam and sourced from Australian Fundraising, and Safety Data Sheets for both the colour powder and foam can be obtained upon request. If you have any concerns at all about safety, children are welcome to wear swimming goggles, but all participants (regardless of fundraising) are provided with sunglasses to wear for the event. If you have specific concerns about your child and their health needs, please contact us or talk with your classroom teacher.

How far do children have to run?

The run will lap around the school oval including a series of obstacles which may include: climbing, crawling, jumping, sliding, balancing, dodging, and more! The colour stations will be spread throughout the course so that children get multiple squirts of colour. Students can complete as many laps as they choose within the set time.

Can family come to watch the event?

Yes, we would love to have parents and family come out to watch the event! We will be asking for parents to volunteer to help on the day, so if you want to be a part of your child’s year level, sign up through the following link - https://signup.com/go/vhUQite.

What is the plan for bad weather?

If there is bad weather on the day of the event, the Colour Explosion Fun Run will aim to be postponed to another suitable date in term 4. Based on the weather forecast, a decision will be made by 1pm on the day before the event and communicated to families.
